Belgium driving license .
In Belgium the driving licence is a governmental right given to those who request a licence for any of the categories they desire. It is required for every type of Motor vehicle. The age to obtain a driving licence is: 18 years for a car, 21 years for buses and cargo vehicles and between 18 and 24 years for motorcycles depending on their horsepower.
Category A1 Belgium driving license
From the age of 18, a category A1 licence is required for drivers of motorcycles with a maximum engine capacity of 125 cc, with maximum power of 11 kW (15 hp) and a maximum power/weight ratio of 0.1 kW per kg.
Category A2 licence
For drivers aged over 20, a category A2 licence is required for motorcycles with maximum power of 35 kW (47 hp) and a maximum power/weight ratio of 0.2 kW per kg. The vehicle may not be derived from a model with more than twice its governed power
Category A licence
For drivers aged over 24, a category licence A is required for motorcycles with power in excess of 35 kW. This age limit is reduced to 22 for drivers who have held a category A2 licence for at least 2 years.
